Functions of pins(销的用途)

Pins are used to join or position two parts (Fig. 7-34). Pins usually only transfer small torques when joining two parts.

Types of pins(销的种类)

Commonly used pins are parallel pins, taper pins and splitcotter pins. According to different precision fittings of pins and pinholes, parallel pins are divided into two categories, i.e.,A(general quench)and B (surface quench). There are two types of taper pins, i.e. ,A and B. See appendix table 2-15 to 2-17 for pinstructures and dimensions.

 Marksof pins(销的标记)

Pins are fastening components. Pins, like thread fasteners, are marked in the same way. Their name, number, type and dimension information should be reflected. See table 7-6 for marks and marking methods.

销也属紧固件,其标记方法与螺纹紧固件相同, 内容包括名称、标准编号、型式与尺寸等。销的标记型式和标记方法见表7-6。

Drawing methods of a pin assembly(销的装配图画法)

A pin assembly drawing is shown in Fig. 7-34. If the cut crosses the pin's axis, the pin, being a solidpiece, will be drawn in accordance with the profile without sectioning. If the cutting plane is perpendicular to the axis, the section hatching should be added.

Matching requirements for parallel and the taperpins are precise. Usually, the pinhole is machined once the joint has been assembled. See the machining methods in Fig. 7-35.
